American Falls - Jennings "Jiggs" Young Nethery, 71, died Monday at Pocatello Regional Medical Center following an apparent heart attack. He was born July 26, 1914, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Jonathan and Lena Bledsoe Nethery. He was reared and educated in Oklahoma City. He attended Central State College in Edmonton, Oklahoma. On January 6, 1947 he married Opal Wilmes and Clovis, New Mexico. The couple moved to Monticello, Utah, where he farmed and sold farm equipment. In 1962 they moved to American Falls to make their home. He has been employed as a farm machinery salesman for many years. Recently, the couple moved to Pocatello. He enjoyed reading, Western American history, travel and story-telling. He is survived by his wife, Helen, of Pocatello: three sons, Ted Nethery, Portland, Oregon, Gary Nethery, American Falls, and Bill Nethery, Charles, South Carolina, and two daughters, Marie Smith, Pocatello and Lieut. Belinda Nethery, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in American Falls with Fr. Rob Keller officiating. Friends may call at Davis mortuary from 7 PM to 9 PM today and Wednesday from 8 AM until service time. Burial will be in Portales, New Mexico.
