The following provided by Find A Grave contributor Judy Bledsoe:

Son of Bailey Bledsoe (1796-1869) and Mary Daniel Jean Bledsoe (1807-1885). Thomas Jefferson Bledsoe was one of their eighteen children [17 lived to adulthood]. The Bledsoe's moved from Heard/Carroll Counties Georgia to Newton, Mississippi and then in 1890 on to Mills County, Texas.

One of the brothers, Thomas Jefferson Bledsoe is written about in A History of Madison County Texas (page 146).

Another brother George Bailey Bledsoe (1837-1920) settled in Navarro and is buried in Wortham Cemetery, Texas.

George Bailey had an article published in Confederate Veteran Magazine in 1910 telling about fifteen soldiers in one family served and most made it home.

The family may be found on the 1850 US Census, Division 11, Carroll County, Georgia.
