Norb entered the U.S. Army on November 12, 1953 and was discharged on November 10, 1955.
Norb came to Algoma and was very active in the community. He served on the school board for the Algoma High School for 15 years with 5 years as President. He was the Sunday School Superintendent for St. Paul's Lutheran Grade School for many years, was a member of the Algoma Fire Dept., the Algoma Boat Club and a Lifetime member of the VFW Post 7152 Algoma. Norb worked for Anderson Appliance as a technician for over 35 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, was an avid cribbage player, enjoyed reading, watching the Brewers and tail gating at to the Brewer games he went to. Norb was an all around handy man and could fix just about anything he set his mind to.
He is survived by his son Dean (Cheryl), Algoma; three daughters Lori (Thomas) Maassen, Eau Claire; Debra (Michael) Boucher, Casco; Patti Jo Polencheck-Clark, Fredonia; 11 grandchildren: Donald (Brenda) Daul, David (Kathy) Daul, Kimberly (Russell) Nockerts, Trevor (Julie) Maassen, Alyssa Maassen (Robert Schroeder), Jenna (Curtis) Deprey, Joseph and Micaela Boucher, Ashley (fiancee' Peter Anthony Worzalla), Katie (Dustin) Teaff and Matthew (special friend Brittni); 11 great grandchildren; Noel, Savanna, Jonathan, Sophia, Mason, Abigail, Samantha, Ethan, David, Chase and Blake; two sisters; Alice Zimmerman and Arlene Rohr; one brother Pat (Elaine) Daul; five sisters-in-law; Arlene Daul, Marion Hafeman, Betty Flavion, Violet Hafeman and June Holtz; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol, daughter Julee Lynn, sister and brother-in-law Betty (Joe) DeNamur, one brother Myron Daul: sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Mabel Geitner, Helen (Joseph) Stangel, Julius Hafeman, Harold (Helen) Hafeman, Sylvester Hafeman, Margaret (Gordon) Mueller, Leona (Gerald) Holtz, Virgil (Violet) Hafeman and Bill Flavion.
Burial in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery after the service with full military rites.
