Wayne is survived by his wife, Gloria, his daughter, Sherry Duncan Thomas, son Robert Duncan, and son, James "Truitt" Duncan.

Wayne was in the Army and served in WWII, did his Basic Training at Fort Sam Houston. Served with 856 Bomb Squadran, U. S. Army. Separated with honorable discharge, as Staff Sgt.
