U.S. Congressman. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University, George Washington University and served as an Ensign in U.S. Naval Aviation Corps during World War I. After the war, he engaged in the real estate and insurance business in Zanesville, Ohio. Entering politics, he was a member of Zanesville City Council and Mayor of Zanesville. In 1961, he was elected as a Republican to the Eighty-seventh Congress, serving until 1963. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he served as a member of the Ohio State Senate, (1967-68). Retiring from public service, he returned to his former business pursuits until his death.
