John J. Jandt, age 70 of Seguin, passed away on May 11, 2013. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 2 to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Emanuel's Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul J. Zwarich officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery with firefighter honors under the auspices of the Seguin Fire Department. John was born on October 5, 1942 in Seguin, Texas to Elbert Robert Jandt and Thelma Rebecca McDonnold Jandt. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his sister, Elizabeth C. Jandt; sister-in-law, Vivian Simer; nephews, Wayne Simer and wife Barbara, Robert Simer and wife Pam and Darrell Simer and wife Kim; niece, Sherrell Zwicke and husband Arnold; numerous great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and many friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Simer, Darrell Simer, Travis Simer, Brian Simer, Sherriff Arnold Zwicke, Jeff Jandt, Tom Meeley and Rusty Krueger. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the Seguin Fire Department. Memorial contributions may be made in John's honor to Emanuel's Lutheran Church, 206 N.
