LIMESTONE and PRESQUE ISLE - Rene J. Hebert, 83, husband of Mrs. Loretta (Roix) Hebert, passed away Sunday morning, May 12, 2013, at a Presque Isle health care facility, after an extended illness. He was born Aug. 2, 1929, in Saint Agatha, son of Joseph and Isabelle (Roy) Hebert.
He was educated in Saint Agatha and went on to serve his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War in the 2nd Armored Division, stationed in Germany. He was married to Loretta Roix April 21, 1954, and had been employed as an iron worker for many years, affiliated with Local Iron Workers Union Number 496. Rene had been a dedicated communicant of Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone, and since moving to Presque Isle five years ago, became a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hebert was predeceased by four brothers, Emile, Albert, Joel and Patrick Hebert; seven sisters, Jeanne Beebe, Lillian Brandas, Diane Pazderka, Yvette Hebert, Adrienette Dube, Ernestine Tolisano and Roseanne Gervais. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Loretta of Presque Isle; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
The interment service will be conducted at Northern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Caribou. (Bangor Daily News 5/13/2013)
