Fred Payne Banker, 99, formerly of Dansville, died in his home in West Palm Beach, Fla., Thursday (Jan. 7, 1988).
Born in Moreland, N.Y., Mar. 13, 1888, he was a self-employed builder in the Dansville area for many years and worked well into his 70's before retiring. He served in the Marine Corps during the construction of the Panama Canal.
He is survived by a daughter, Audrey Hornyak, with whom he resided; a son, Edward Banker of Woodsville; a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.
A service was conducted Sunday afternoon in the Hindle Funeral Home of Dansville with the Rev. Alan E. Stein of the Dansville Assembly of God Church officiating.
Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, West Sparta.
