Married Elizabeth Cornwall, Sept 25, 1791 in Beekman, Dutchess Co., NY. They settled in Renessaerville, NY, then to Albany where they remained until 1830, then removed to Bethlehem, NY. In early life he joined the Society of Friends, and he and his wife became most acceptable preachers, and were in the habit of attending yearly meetings. They lived blameless and eminently useful lives, adorning the doctrine they professed. The savor of their good names and the influence of their good example and precept were widely felt and acknowledged.
As their lives were exemplary, they died peaceful and triumphant. Their memoirs were published and circulated.
They had 12 children:
2 passed in infancy, and 2 in childhood. The rest lived to adulthood.
