Mrs. Louisa Newcomb Was Past Pocahontas Of Minnehaha Council
Gorham, Oct. 7 - Mrs. Louisa M. Newcomb, wife of H.H. Newcomb, died suddenly this afternoon while performing her household duties.
She was born on Christmas Day in Jersey, England, sixty years ago and came to America when ten years of age, living in Portland.
Her marriage took place forty years ago and her home has been on Lincoln Street this community the past thirty-six years.
She leaves a husband and four daughters, Miss Jessie Newcomb, Mrs. Frank Bean, Mrs. Perley W. Babbidge and Mrs. W. H.Squier, all of Gorham, also ten grandchildren.
Mrs. Newcomb was Past Pocohontas of Minnehahah Council at Cumberland Mills, and a member of Rathbone Temple, Pythian Sisters, South Windham.
services will be held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and interment will be in the Eastern Cemetery.

Her middle name is Mary according to the Railroad Retirement Board papers for her daughter Elizabeth E Newcomb and her husband Frank L Bean. Her name is spelled out as "Lousia Mary Northing Newcomb" though Elizabeth & Frank do give the middle name of Mae to one of their daughters.
