Doris married Thomas Adair Drake 16 October 1937 in St. Marys, Pleasants County, West Virginia.

DORIS IDA DRAKE
BLUE ROCK: Doris Ida Drake, 94, of Blue Rock, passed away at 7:12 p.m. Tuesday, November 9th 2010 at Genesis Hospital, Good Samaritan Campus.

She had made her home with her daughter Dorothy Moore and the late Norman L. Moore for 8 years.

Doris was born March 30, 1916, the daughter of the late Harry G. and Phoebe C. (Rambo) Daw. She was born in Blue Rock Township where she lived nearly all her life. She graduated from Philo High School in 1934 and Meridith Business College. On October 16, 1937 she married Thomas Drake who passed away December 30, 1989. She was a homemaker and for several years of her marriage she helped operate a country telephone switchboard from their home in Rural Dale.

Doris was a member of the Rural Dale United Methodist Church where she served as Church Treasurer for over 36 years; she was also a member of the United Methodist Women of the church, the Philo/Duncan Falls Homemakers and Olive Branch Chapter OES #251.

She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Moore; and one son, Ray L. (Diana) Drake of Nacogdoches, TX; and six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Helen Eppley of Bellvue, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband; her parents; and her son-in-law; she was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Daw; and three sisters, Mildred Wheeler, Edith Stutes and younger sister, Florence Daw.

Olive Branch OES will hold services 5:45 p.m. Friday evening.

Visitations will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 12th at the Thompson-Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, with Pastor David Kofroth and officiating. Burial will follow in Duncan Falls Cemetery.
