HYDE PARK, N.Y. — The body recovered on the shore of the Hudson River two days ago has been identified as one of two men missing since their canoe capsized in December, town police said on Wednesday.

Police said the Dutchess County Medical Examiner's Office, using dental records, identified the deceased as Daniel Baylin Coddington, 27, of Millbrook.

Police said the medical examiner found no signs of foul play against Coddington.

Coddington was in a 14-foot canoe with Barrett Raymond, 31, and Michael Maurer, 29, both of Hyde Park, when the vessel capsized in the wee hours of Dec. 21 after the three men attended a bachelor party.

Maurer was able to swim to shore and go for help. Raymond remains missing.

The accident happened near the Rodgers Point Boat Club. Coddington's body was discovered about 10 a.m. Monday near Hyde Park Landing at the base of West Market Street.
