Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of __rick's Funeral Home of West Monroe.
Mr. Avery died Monday at Glenwood Hospital after a short illness.
Survivors include four sons, Earl Avery and J. T. Avery, both of West Monroe, Lee Roy Avery of Monroe, and Lessely Avery of Brementon, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. Gladys McGrew and Mrs. France[s] Lively, both of West Monroe, and Mrs. Adeline Stanley of Altoona, Ala.; one brother, Esco Avery of Humbolt, Tenn.; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Buford of Humbolt, Mrs. Iona Rice and Miss Marie Avery, both of Alamo, Tenn.; 21 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Eugene Lively, Alan Lively, Jerry Crain, Michael Simmons, Kenneth Standard and Willie Kvaternik.
