Leonard J. "Len" Becker, age 58, of Carl Junction, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2002 from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident near Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Mr. Becker was born December 28, 1943 in Campbell Hill, Illinois, to the late Rev. Alvin Becker and Leora Vander Becker and had been in Joplin area for over 20 years. He was a counselor for several years at Hiawatha (Kan.) High School and for the past 20 years he was a counselor at Joplin High School. He was owner and operator of Sounds Unlimited Disc Jockey Service in the Joplin area for over 20 years. He was a member of the Missouri School Counselors Association; Briarbrook Country Club; and Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Michelle Rockey, Cincinnati, Ohio, Robin Becker, Jacksonville, Florida; a stepson, Nathan Wood, Jackson, Mississippi; a stepdaughter, Jami Wood, Joplin; five brothers, Marvin Becker, Nevada City, California, Don Becker, Oak Park, Illinois, Elfred Becker, Sweet Springs, Missouri, Bob Becker, Lisle, Illinois and Norbert Becker of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister, Vera Crosmer, Twin Falls, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Irma Schmidt.

Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Pastor Donald Stock will officiate. Graveside services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha, Kansas, under the direction of Chapel Oaks Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Parker Mortuary.
