Died – On Monday morning, Feb. 21st, Frank Benzschawel died at his home at Hilbert after an illness of three months' duration from ulcer of the stomach. The deceased was born in Germany, May 22, 1877, and came to America with his parents when a child of four settling on a farm in St. John. He was a deaf-mute but very intelligent and successfully conducted a shoe repair shop in Hilbert for many years enjoying the friendship as well as the patronage of the community. The funeral was held on Thursday morning from St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rev. M. Oswald officiating with interment in St. Mary's cemetery.
He is survived by a widow and two sons, a mother, five brothers and one sister.
