MARS HILL - January 26, 1956 - Clausel Allen, 83, a retired farmer of the Paint Fork section, died at his home this morning following a long illness.
Funeral services will be held at Paint Fork Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Eddie McPheters, the Rev. Francis Radford and the Rev. Guy West officiating.
Burial will be in Willie B. Metcalf Cemetery.
Grandsons will be pallbearers, and granddaughters will be flower bearers.
The body will remain at Holcombe Funeral Home here until time for services.
Surviving are the widow, the former Miss Roxanne Edney; five daughters, Mrs. Garrett Metcalf of Marshall, Mrs. Annie Hancock of Kings Mountain, Mrs. T. A. Wheeler of Canton, and Mrs. Virgie Allen and Mrs. Albert Gardner of Mars Hill; five sons, Jeter and Z. T. Allen of Mars Hill, Clarence Allen of Barnardsville, Fred Allen of Spruce Pine, and Paul Allen of Cane River.
Also two brothers, the Rev. P. A. Allen of Morganton and George Allen of Mars Hill; two sisters, Miss Nancy Jane Allen of Cane River, and Mrs. Mary Deyton of Blairsville, Georgia; four half-brothers, Cleasure Allen of Asheville, Elmer Allen of Tapoca, Jake of High Point, North Carolina, Alvin Allen of Sylva, and Henry Allen of Grifton, South Carolina; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Smith of Sylva, and Mrs. Viola Barnes of High point.
