Funeral services for John Chudej, 77, were held from the Triska Chapel in Rosenberg on Thursday morning followed by Requiem Mass at the Beasley Catholic Church, with Rev. Pat O'Connell officiating.

Mr. Chudej was born in Lavaca Co. and made his home in Beasley for the past 12 years. He passed away in Wharton following a long illness.

Survivors include one son, Julius Chudej of Wallis; six daughters, Mrs. C.J. Sykora of Richmond, Mrs. H.F. Preuss of Beasley, Mrs. Willie Sbrusch of Beasley, Mrs. Ludwik Dobesh of Needville, Mrs. Ted Matheaus of Beasley, and Mrs. Willie Raska of Wallis; 23 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ernest, Louis, and Henry Chudej of Lavaca Co.; two sisters, Mrs. Anton Kocian of Lavaca Co. and Mrs. Charlie Baca of Garwood.

Pallbearers were Bengene Matheaus, James Raska, Eugene Dobesh, Elgene Matheaus, Alvin Sykora, and Johnnie Sykora.

Interment was made in the Greenlawn Garden of Memories, with Triska Funeral Home directing.
