Anna Alosi, 83, of Green Meadows, Allentown, Pennsylvania died Friday, May 27, 2005 in Valley Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born January 10, 1922 in Luzzi, Italy, the daughter of Michael and Rosina Marino. Her father was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War I. An American citizen at birth, she arrived in the United States in December, 1925.

She is survived by three sons: John, Jr., Shippensburg; Edward, Coopersburg; and David, Alexandria, Virginia; two sisters: Yolanda Landis, Warminster and Edith Webster, Doylestown and one brother, Joseph Marino, Perkasie; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nephews and nieces.

Raised in Philadelphia, she attended Germantown High School. She worked as an elevator operator at Strawbridge and Clothiers Department Store and then during World War II, she worked for a defense contractor, Buckman's Manufacturing, making sleeping bags for the Army.

During her life she lived in Bangor, Coopersburg and Shippensburg. For much of her adult life she was a homemaker but she also was employed periodically as a food service worker for the Southern Lehigh School District and DeSales University. She was also employed at the old Caledonia Station Restaurant on U.S. Route 30 between Chambersburg and Gettysburg. In addition, she appeared in a play at the Totem Pole Playhouse in 1980, taking the role of an Italian immigrant in "They Knew What They Wanted."
