Born Nov 17, 1822, in Grouville, Jersey, Channel Islands. Emigrated on the ship, Chimborazo in 1855. Traveled west with the Mormons in the Charles A. Harper company, first setling in Provo, Utah in 1855, then moved to Fairfield where her husband Josias Richard Young worked on the barracks for Johnston's army. 13 children: William John Young, Elizabeth Jane Young, Susanna Olivia Young, Louisa Sarah Young, Brigham Joseph Young, Josias Richard Young Jr, Andrew Henry Young, Maria Ellen Young, Charlotte Ann Young, Eliza Adelaid Young, Annie Young, Fredrick Gilbert Young, George Edwin Young.
