J. Mitchell Lieb died at his home on Willowbank St. Bellefonte, a few minutes before 3 o'clock Tuesday morning August 18, 1908. he had been in good health for a year or more, and some months ago Bright's disease developed. Later he contacted tuberculosis of the stomach. The complications of diseases was more than his once robust constitution could withstand and he grew rapidly worse. In fact his condition has been low for a month or more, and his death was expected at anytime.

The deceased was the son of John Lieb and born Sept, 17, 1851 in Penn Valley. His father was one of the prominent men in the town, having at one time been the owner of what's now the Bellefonte Lumber Co. plant, and he left at the time of his death considerable property

He was united in marriage with Matilda (Tillie) Guisewhite, who survives with two children, Mrs. Miles Osmer of Oberlin, Ohio; and Mrs. Samuel H. Taylor of New York city.

He is also leaves one brother, Dr. Andrew Lieb of Reading, but who now is traveling somewhere in the Pacific Coast. Prof. David Lieb a brother died a number of years ago.

The funeral was held yesterday afternoon, interment being made in the Union Cemetery
