"Kate" (Connolly) Fitzpatrick, his wife of 57 years. Jim was born February 8, 1929, in Oak Park, Ill. He was the son of Francis and Helen (Vogel) Fitzpatrick. He attended schools in Oak Park and Berwyn, Ill. Following two years of military service in the Army from 1946 to 1948, Jim attended the University of Notre Dame, graduating in 1952 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He and his wife, Kate, along with their daughters, Estella and Peggy, enjoyed many wonderful travel experiences in Europe, the Middle East, India, and Asia while living overseas. Moving to Hanover in 2005, Jim took an active part in volunteering at Sacred Heart Basilica School and Church activities. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Estella Fitzpatrick of McAlester, Okla., and Peggy Keifer and her husband, Gregory of Hampstead, Md.; three grandchildren, Colleen, Elsie, and Brennan Keifer; four siblings, Mary Brown, and John, Thomas and Paul Fitzpatrick; and numerous nieces and nephews. As per Jim's request his body was donated for research to the Anatomy Gift Registry. A Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013, at Sacred Heart Basilica in Hanover, with the Rev. Lawrence J. McNeil officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O.
