His Last Will and Testament reads: "In the name of God amen - I David S. Dean of the town of Canton, County of Wayne and state of Michigan of the age of sixty four years and being of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say:
First I give and bequeath to my wife Catherine Dean the South West quarter of the North West quarter of Section thirteen (13) Township two (2) South of Range Eight (8) East lying in the County of Wayne and State of Michigan. Also the Brown mare that I now own together with the harness and one horse wagon with the harness and one horse wagon and the one horse sleigh.
To my son William W. Dean and to his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcle of land known and described as follows to wit, the South East quarter of the North East quarter of section fourteen (14) Township two (2) South or range eight (8) East in the County of Wayne and state of Michigan together with all the h...taments and appurtenances thereto belonging.
And lastly I give and bequeath to my wife Catherine all the rest residue and remainder of my Personal Estate goods and chattles of what nature or kind ____ whome I appoint sole exectrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former will by me made. In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal the twenty fourth day of January One thousand eight hundred and fifty six"
