Grace Shannon Abbott of Decatur, Georgia, died February 20, 2006. She was a member of Avondale Pattillo United Methodist Church for 72 years. She was also a member of the Golden Rule Bible Class and Study In Action Group. She was active in delivering Meals On Wheels for 9 years.
Mrs. Abbott was preceded in death by her husband Walter J. Abbott, Sr. and her son Walter J. Abbott, Jr. She is survived by children Barbara Abbott Baker and her husband John R., Kenneth L. Abbott and his wife,Judy and Martha Abbott Conaway and her husband David; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons, Rev. Tavye Morgan officiating. Burial followed in Floral Hills Memory Gardens..
