HIGGINSVILLE - Charles G. Gilkey, 82, Higginsville, died March 22, 1991, at a nursing home in Higginsville. He was born in Higginsville, and lived in Marshall, Mo., for 35 years before he returned to Higginsville in 1981. Mr. Gilkey owned the Home Lumber Co., Marshall, before he retired in 1980. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marshall. He was a member of the Trilumina Masonic Lodge, Marshall, and the Ararat Shrine. His wife of 55 years, Nettie Gilkey, died in 1984. Survivors include a son, Glenn Gilkey, Lakewood, Colo.; two daughters, Judy Ravenscraft, Liberty, and Vicki Gauldin, Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, Richard Gilkey, Chillicothe, Mo.; two sisters, Frances Helliker and Emma Jean Shockley of Higginsville; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Hoefer Chapel, Higginsville; burial in the Higginsville City Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to t he American Lung Association.
