RITES HERE FOR JOHN L. AGARD
Former Local Man Victim Of Accident

John L. Agard, 54, a resident of this city for many years died Saturday morning in Oklahoma City, according to word received here over the weekend and the body was expected to arrive here tonight by train.

On November 7 Mr. Agard fell while visiting in Oklahoma City striking the back of his head and severing the spinal cord and his condition was critical until he died at 5:55 Saturday morning.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the Potts Funeral Home with Rev. George Dalrymple of the First Christian Church presiding. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

John L. Agard was born in Gravette, Arkansas in 1886. The son of Lafayette and Sallie C. Agard. When a young man the family moved to Hobart, Oklahoma where he resided a few years before coming to Independence. He was married in 1906.

He is survived by the widow, Alice Agard and one daughter Anita Nell Agard both of San Diego, California and one sister Goldie Trauger of Lakeland, Florida.
