Mr. Hedrick was a good citizen of quiet, unassuming manners.
He was a member of Company A Pendleton Reserves and was in his 83rd year.
Death came very suddenly and quietly to Mr. Hedrick, not feeling well on Thursday morning he asked that his breakfast be set aside and he went to lie down for a few minutes.
After a short time when members of the family went to see about him he was found to be dead.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Cain Murphy, of Franklin and three sons, Robert of Monterey, Va., Baxter, of Hinton, Va., and Fred, who lives with his sister, Mrs. Murphy.
