Mrs. Hazel Hornsby Stevens, 93, of New Brockton, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004, in Medical Center Enterprise. The funeral will be 10 a.m. today, Thursday, May 6 from El Bethel Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Mike Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Tabernacle Cemetery with Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home directing. The body will be placed into the church one hour before service time. Mrs. Stevens was born Jan. 14, 1911, in Coffee County to the late Gaston J. and Erie Mae Dunnavant Hornsby Sr. She was a member of the El Bethel Assembly of God Church. Her husband, Louie C. Stevens preceded her in death in March 2001. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Annette Williams of New Brockton; Judy and Dennis Hammock of Atlanta; son, Donnie D. and Linda Stevens of Enterprise; sister, Dot Tindol of New Brockton; seven brothers, John D. Hornsby; Allen Hornsby, both of Dothan; Jack Hornsby; Claxton Hornsby; Gaston Hornsby Jr.; Arthur Hornsby, all from New Brockton; Leon Hornsby of New Hope; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
