The Courier-Journal 2 Aug 1908
"Paul E. Weber, the 9-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Weber, died at their home, 306 Shelby street, in the Silver Grove suburb, New Albany, Friday night at 11 o'clock of blood poisoning. About ten days ago the boy stepped on a piece of wire, puncturing the sole of his foot and causing a wound of but slight consequence. It healed in a few days and nothing more was thought of it. Friday morning the boy complained of the foot paining him and it quickly swelled with decided symptoms of blood poisoning. Physicians were called, but it was impossible to check the malady and he continued to sink until death came a few hours later. The funeral will take place this afternoon at the family home."
