Surname misspelled on marker.∼William Franklin "Bud" Simms was the 1st son and the 2nd child of Jacob Milton Simms and Abigail McBride Piles Simms and the brother to my grandmother, Annie Jane Simms Bateman. He first married Biddie Marvin Thomas, daughter of James Knox Polk Thomas and Sarah Elizabeth Bishop Thomas, on Dec 31, 1903 in Somervell Co. TX. They had 2 sons and 2 daughters. After they divorced he later married Mattie "Belle" Wood Simms in 1928 in Abilene, TX, Taylor Co. She was the daughter of George Wood and Sarah Frances Nail Wood. Their were no children to this union.
