Wilbur N. Parsons, 80, of Claridge, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, in Mercy Jeannette Hospital. He was born July 1, 1924, in Claridge, a son of the late Ernest and Rosina Moss Parsons. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a custodian by the Penn-Trafford School District. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Brant Parsons, in 2003; two grandsons, Joey and David; four brothers, Raymond, George, Ivan and Floyd; and three sisters, Emily, Lilly and Genovee. He is survived by five sons, Ernest N. Parsons and wife, Shirley, of Greensburg, Bill N. Parsons and wife, Debra, of Penn, Robert J. Parsons and wife, Janet, of Lexington, S.C., Donald N. Parsons and wife, Kathleen, of Claridge, and John H. Parsons, of Claridge; a daughter, Cindy M. Dowdrick and husband, David, of Claridge; nine grandchildren, Alexis, James, Jennifer, Joshua, Jennifer, Sarah, Shelia, Tammy and Wendy; two great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Zachary; and two brothers, Kenneth, of California, and Norman, of Florida. Friends will be received at the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Daniel B. Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Penn Township.
