He was a retired from the United States Army, where he served during both World War II and the Korean War. He was awarded the Purple Heart among other commendations and was a member of the Purple Heart Society. Albert was a member of the VFW Post 1181 Valley Station, was the owner of Nacke Floor Covering and worked as an electrician for Kosmo Deal Cement plant.
Albert is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, the former Mildred Lee Harris Nacke.
He is survived by his children, Edward Albert Nacke (Deanna), Larry Allen Nacke Sr. (Patricia), Kenneth Michael Nacke (Patricia), Carol Ann Vance (Keith) and Suzanne Nacke Hadley (Danny) and a sister, Louise Young. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of Albert's life will be conducted at noon, Friday, May 24, 2013, in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. Entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
