Funeral services for Mary Ann Farrens, age 77, of Burlington Junction, Missouri, were held Tuesday morning, May 16, 2006 at 10:00 a.m., at the First Christian Church, Burlington Junction, Missouri. Visitation with the family was held from 6-8 p.m., Monday, May 15, 2006 at the First Christian Church. Burial was in the Ohio Cemetery, Burlington Junction. Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church, Burlington Junction.
Mary Ann Farrens was born June 27, 1928, at Fairfax, Missouri, to Okie Francis and Cornelia Withers Sexton Schooler and she passed away Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Heartland East Hospital, St. Joseph, Missouri. Mary Ann lived her entire life in Burlington Junction. She graduated from the Burlington Junction High School and also graduated with a BS in Elementary Education from Northwest Missouri Teachers College, Maryville, Missouri. She also had a master's degree in education. Mary Ann taught for forty four years before her retirement. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Burlington Junction and a member of the Retired Teachers Organization.
She married Clarence Farrens, May 29, 1949, at Burlington Junction and he preceded her in death in 1978.
She is survived by four children, Clarence Larry Farrens (Karen) of Maryville, Missouri, William E. Farrens (Sharon) of Blockton, Iowa, Connie Goff (Roger) and Carla Ann Grossoehme (Robert) all of Burlington Junction, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; thirty three great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; half-sister, Lois Burgett; a friend, Roy Merckling; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
