C. MICHAEL BAIER, 80, of Boulder died Dec. 15. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 3300 Table Mesa Drive.

Mr. Baier was born in Oshkosh, Wis., on Sept. 29, 1916. He married Martha Louise ''Mitzi'' Munday, 1942.

He served in the Army. He had a 37-year career at the University of Colorado at Boulder in positions that included controller and assistant vice chancellor for academic affairs.

In 1978 he was awarded the Robert L. Stearns Award for extraordinary service. After his retirement he worked for the University of Colorado Foundation.

He was a member of the Boulder Rotary Club, Boulder Genealogy Society and St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife; daughter Louise Bacharach of Maryland; son Richard of Boulder; sisters Helen Dumke and Marie Miller, both of Wisconsin; brothers Albert and Victor, both of Wisconsin; two grandchildren.
