Delta - Dr. Charles O. Beckman, 89, of Boulder, a retired Methodist minister, died at 2 p.m. Monday in Schwarz Nursing Home. He had been a patient there 5 years.
A member of the Rocky Mountain Methodist Conference, Dr. Beckman had served pastorates at Boulder and Canon City as well as in churches in other states. Retiring several years ago, he had made his home at Boulder.
He was born April 22, 1873, at Clinton, IN, a son of Louis H. and Laure E. Crane Beckman. His first wife, the former Lillian Wade, whom he married on September 25, 1901, at Erie, PA, died in 1942. He married Nan Wilson at Wichita Falls, TX, on May 29, 1944.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Oscar Swanson of Delta; a grandson, Lt. Cmdr. Charles Oscar Swanson, who is being assigned to Hawaii with the Navy; and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services are to be held Thursday at Boulder, with burial in Boulder Cemetery. Local arrangements were made with the Roberts Funeral Home.
