Mary Paullin Woodruff was the daughter
of William Woodruff and Hannah Morris.
She married Pettit Fay Brockway, son
of Alonzo Brockway and Huldah Smith,
on August 16, 1876, Johnson County, Iowa. The couple had five children, all of whom
are listed below.

Mrs. Brockway's place of birth has been listed variously as Columbiana, Columbiana County, Ohio; as Mahoning County, Ohio; and, in her obituary, as Marietta, [Washington County,] Ohio. Her place of marriage is listed on every Iowa marriage database as Johnson County.

THE BOULDER DAILY CAMERA; Boulder, Boulder County, Colorado; Thursday,
February 26, 1925:

"MRS. MARY P. BROCKWAY, MOTHER OF WALDO BROCKWAY, DIED FROM PNEUMONIA

Mary P. Brockway, mother of Mrs. H. R. Ledyard and of Waldo E. Brockway, both
of this city, died Wednesday evening of pneumonia at the home of the latter, 845
Fifteenth street. Mrs. Brockway had been
ill for about a week and because of her condition her husband, Pettit F. Brockway,
who had been visiting their daughter,
Mrs. F. R. Wendell [sic-Wendle], at
Auburn, Wash., was wired for and arrived
this morning accompanied by Mrs. Wendell [sic-Wendle].
Mrs. Brockway had made her home in Boulder for the past nine years, coming here from the Western Slope. She was born in Marietta, Ohio, June 16, 1849. She moved with her parents to Iowa when a little girl and attended the University of Iowa in the early 70's. She was married in 1876 and came to Colorado with her family in 1897.
Besides the relatives mentioned a daughter, Mrs. E. F. Burnett, resides at Pueblo and
a brother, W. W. Woodruff, lives in Los Angeles.
Funeral services are to be held from the
Kelso mortuary, Fifteenth and Pearl street, tomorrow (Friday) afternoon. Rev. J. H.
Skeen of the First Baptist church, of which denomination Mrs. Brockway was a member, will conduct the services."
