James Ralph Carr, Springfield, MO, son of James L and Bertha C (Stone) Carr, was born on February 11, 1921 in Stone County, MO and departed this life on May 19, 2013 in the Mt Vernon Veterans Home, Mt Vernon, MO, at the age of 92.

James was a lifelong resident of the area and was a retired railroad carman for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was of the Christian faith.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Loreta (Day) Carr; infant son, James Albert Carr; infant daughter, Jeannie Carr; step-daughter, Linda Davis and step-son, Don Barnes.

Survivors include: his son, Kenneth Carr and wife, Diane of Springfield, MO; daughter, Barbara McVey and husband, Jeff of Strafford, MO; sister Ruth Smith of Galena, MO; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in Manlove-Stumpff Funeral Home, Crane, MO. Burial will be in Cape Fair Cemetery, Cape Fair, MO under the direction of Manlove-Stumpff Funeral Home, Crane, MO.
