AUGUSTA, Ga. - Ret. SFC Cleveland L. (Chico) Eden, of Brunswick Avenue, entered into rest Monday, July 23, 2007 at Heartland Hospice. Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Thankful Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Memorial Garden. He was a native of La Ceiba Honduras; a retired U.S. Army Veteran of 24 years where he earned medals with National Defense for O/S Bars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry W/Palm. He was one of the organizing Charter Members of R.A. Dent Elks Lodge #1725, Augusta, where he was Esteemed Leading Knight, Esteemed Loyal Knight and Trustee. He was an officer in the State Association for many years, an officer of the Past Exalted Ruler's Council #82 Northern District, a member of the National Past Grand Exalted Rulers Council and National Young Council Regional 4 Youth Directors, organized the Youth Elks Department of R.A. Dent Lodge and Temple, Past President of the 25 Gents, executive officer of the Elks Military Group, R.A. Dent Company D and the Antler Guard Dept. where he held Rank of Brigadier General. Survivors are his wife, Nancy; 9 children, Louise, Cecelia, Jacquelyn, Cleveland, Vernard, Denise, Lloyd, Sonja, and Edra.
