Katie F. Casciano of Clio, age 76, died Friday, November 5, 2010 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10AM Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Rev. Fr. Gerald J. Ploof officiating. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Sunday from 4-9PM and Monday from 12-4 and 6-9PM. A vigil service will be held 7PM Monday evening. Mrs. Casciano will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 9AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family.

Katie was born October 6, 1934 in Flint, Michigan to the late Charles and Agnes (Nazrich) Filpansick. She graduated from All Saints Catholic School in 1954. Katie married Ronald Casciano August 21, 1954. She was employed with St. Joseph Hospital for 16 years, retiring in 1994. Katie was a member of Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church and the Red Hats Society. Katie enjoyed bowling, cooking, reading, fishing, traveling, crafts, gardening and spending holidays with her family. She was a very devoted wife, mother grandmother and sisterwho will be deeply missed.

Surviving are: husband, Ronald; daughters, Lou Ann (Richard) Boyd of Clio, Debbie (Gregory) Weiss of Mt. Morris; grandchildren, Heather Lee Gauthier, Kortney Katherine Simonin, Giles Weiss, Garrett Weiss; sisters, Agnes Longaker of Clio, Dorothy Peraino of Flint; many nieces and nephews.

Katie was also preceded in death by: daughter, Gena Marie Klee; son-in-law, Matthew Klee; 4 brothers; 1 sister; nephews, Herb "Sonny" Longaker, Steve Filpansick.
