She was born on March 1, 1933, in Pineland, Texas to Vera Farley Baker and George W. Baker, and had been a resident of Beaumont since 1960.
Helen was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for many years. She developed lifelong friendships through this organization while serving her community. Helen and her husband, Forrest, were active members of First United Methodist Church in Beaumont. Helen was also a long-time employee of DuPont in Mid-County.
Helen is survived by her husband, Forrest E. Rake; son, Stewart Rake; daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Michael Bohmfalk; three grandsons and two granddaughters.
Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont, Texas.
