WESTFIELD - Willis D. Abbott, 81, of Westfield, died Monday, May 20, 2013 in Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Westfield on March 7, 1932 to William and Lillian (Wood) Abbott. Willis was a graduate of Westfield High School and a US Air Force Veteran. He was employed as a salesman in the nameplate manufacturing industry. Willis retired from Ceramic Graphics in Ludlow. He also worked at Densel Manufacturing, Westfield Coatings and Anderson and Sons. Willis enjoyed gardening and genealogy. He leaves his wife of fifty-eight years Ozelie (Bernier) Abbott, a son John W. Abbott of Westfield, a daughter Judith Ann Prentice of West Springfield, two sisters, Ellen Abbott of Westfield and Rosemary Grady of Lee and two grandchildren, Margaret and Elizabeth Prentice. A service with military honors will be held on Wednesday May 29th, at 2 pm in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St, Agawam, MA. Calling hours are omitted. In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Willis's memory be made to the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Baystate Medical Center, 759 Chestnut St, Springfield, MA 01199. firtionadams.com
