Funeral services for David M. Parmley, 62, were conducted May 3,2005 at the Brayton Lutheran Church in Brayton, with Pastor Steven Frock officiating. Interment was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, west of Brayton. Honorary casket bearers were: Nicholas Parmley, William Lehman, Andrew Lehman, Larry Harter, Russell Dennis and Rick Harter. Casket bearers were: Roger Nelson, Veral Sorensen, Roger Johnson, Carey Ballou, Kenneth Powers and Al Helwig.

David Mark Parmley, the son of Charles Lester and Ethel Marie Blay Parmley, was born Oct. 3, 1942, in Atlantic and died April 30, 2005, at the Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

David was raised in the Brayton area and attended Oakfield No. 7 country school through eighth grade. He graduated from Exira High School with the Class of 1961, then was employed at the Exira Feed Service.

On April 20, 1963, David was united in marriage to Margaret Ann Hansen at the Brayton Lutheran Church in Brayton. Two children were born to this union, Clark David and Renee Annette. David worked for the Exira Feed Service and the Valley 66 Oil Company, then purchased a farm south of Exira in 1971. In 1993, they sold the farm and moved into Exira and David worked for Schafer Systems in Adair and for Roger Nelson, doing field work for the past several years.

Preceding him in death were his mother, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wilbert and Eva Hansen, his grandparents, his brothers-in-law, Jim Collen and Mark Landsberger and nephew, Scott Landsberger.
