Beverly Christensen Chamberlain
1929 ~ 2010
Beverly Christensen Chamberlain of Orem, UT reunited with her loving Father in Heaven Feb. 27, 2010. She was born May 21, 1929 in Castle Dale, Utah to Charley and Leah Christensen. The second of four girls, she proved you can take the girl out of Emery County but you can't take Emery County out of the girl.
After high school graduation, she and a friend caught a bus to the big city (Salt Lake City) where she found enjoyable work at Beneficial Life Insurance Company. At 21, her testimony nudged her to serve a mission and she received a call to the North Central States Mission where she came away with an even stronger testimony and the acquaintance of an Elder Jonathan M. Chamberlain. Through letters and only two dates, they learned about each other as he went on to serve in the Air Force and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on January 16, 1953.
Beverly and Jonathan have five children, 27 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She had an unyielding sense of humor. She loved to learn and instilled a desire in each of her children to be perpetual students of the world around them. She was an accomplished artist, musician and writer - traits that "rubbed off" on her descendents, influencing their vocations and avocations.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents as well as sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Art Harmon.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, in the Sharon Park 3rd Ward Chapel, 225 E. 200 N. Orem, Utah. Viewings were held on Friday evening, March 5, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 E. 800 N. in Orem and on Saturday, from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment was at Orem City Cemetery, 1520 N. 800 E., Orem, UT.
