WINSTON-SALEM -- Mr. William "Bill" Benjamin Beery, IV, 61, of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Wilmington, NC on June 15, 1951 to William Benjamin Beery, III and Martha Blomberg Beery. Bill was an active and faithful member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where he was an usher and most recently served on the worship committee. Bill always stepped up to the plate when asked to do things. He did whatever anyone ever asked him to do and never took credit for the many things he did, both hands on and behind the scenes. Bill sought to carry all of the world's problems on his broad shoulders and felt called to do God's will on this earth. He had a huge heart. He was a truly humble man who loved deeply and he will be missed by everyone. Bill learned to accept love in return the last week of his life and died a very happy man surrounded by the love of friends and family. He was preceded in death by his father, William Benjamin Beery, III. Bill is survived by Ana, his loving wife of 35 years, and two loving daughters, Maria Christine Beery, a graduate student at USC in Columbia studying opera and Ann Elizabeth Beery, a junior at UNC-Chapel Hill studying Journalism. He was overwhelmingly proud of both of them and talked about them to anyone who would listen. Also surviving are his mother, Martha of Wilmington; two sisters, Martha "Marcy" Ann Dineen of Wilmington and Katherine Elizabeth Beery of Raleigh; two brothers-in-law, Manuel Villalon (Tina) of Puerto Rico and Felipe Villalon (Mayra) of Winston-Salem; two sisters-in-law, Silvia Nilsen of Dallas, TX and Cuquin Delmas of Miami, FL; nieces and nephews, Collins Whitfield (Brian), Owen Whitfield, Sophie Whitfield, Ben Dineen (Anna Mackie), John Villalon, Teresa Villalon, Manuel Felipe Villalon (Ana), Cristina Álvarez (Ricardo), John Villalon, Teresa Villalon and a large line of extended family. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with The Rev. David Hodges officiating. Interment will follow in the Dalton Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends following the service in the Colhoun Room. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 520 Summit St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
