W.O. CHARLES OF PUEBLO CALLED BY DEATH IN DENVER
W.O. Charles, former Pueblo auto dealer and a prominent figure in American Legion activities here died Sunday at Fitzimons hospital Denver, where he had been a patient for about two weeks.
A veteran of World War 1 during which he served overseas with the air corps. Mr. Charles had been active in Legion affairs since the organization was formed.
He served as commander of the local post in 1938 and at the time of his death was serving as its adjutant. He was a member of Pueblo Voiture 827, 40 and 8. Chef de gare, 1938 and grand Chef de gare of the grand Voiture of Colorado 1942.
Mr. Charles was a graduate of the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, a charter member of the Golden Lodge No. one. A.F. & A.M. and a member of the Elks club of Pueblo.
Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Helen K. Charles, 1925 Carlisle Ave., a son William O. Charles Jr.; his mother, Mrs. Mary L. Charles, Golden, his father I.W. Charles, Grand Junction and a brother I.M. Charles, Rock Springs, Wyo.
His body will be returned to Pueblo today for funeral services and interment.

A.F. & A.M. will conduct the Masonic ceremony, and flag folding services, and taps will be sounded by Pueblo Post No. 2, American Legion, at Roselawn cemetery.
