Clarence A. Gunther, 85, of 3814 S. Lauder died at 10:10 a.m. Sunday, March 30, 1997, at Rosewood Care Center of Peoria.
Born July 10, 1911, in Adams County to Simon Edmund and Clara Mary Louise Hornecker Gunther, he married A. Josephine Morgan on Oct. 30, 1937, in Davenport, Iowa. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Ronald G. of Bartonville and Robert D. of East Peoria; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, George Robert of Quincy. He was preceded in death by one sister.
He was an electrician at Hiram Walker & Sons for 33 years, retiring in 1973. He was a 59-year member of the Illinois Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 34. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.
