After a long struggle with cancer, Edith "DeeDee" Fryer Dodds Carter passed away in Salt Lake City. Born to John Albert and Annie Fryer Doss, she married Alton W. Carter September 15, 1941, which was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away May 27, 2002. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her favorite church calling was with Alton serving as stake missionaries.

A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her children: Linda (Stewart) Olsen, Myrna (Doug) Forney, Brian (Lorene) Carter; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. A son, Alton Larry; 11 brothers and sisters predeceased "DeeDee".
