Rene was born in St.Boniface when the family lived in Sandilands Manitoba. As a young man he moved to Alberta met and married Connie. He returned to Manitoba in 2009 and lived in a personal care home until his death. Rene ashes are buried with his father Isidore Pierre Girouard in the Saint Boniface Cemetery....Renes' girlfriend (Julie Taylor) has erected a flat marker for Rene.
