ALBERT VOLK RITES SET SATURDAY, CENTENARY CHURCH

Albert Lea Volk, 322 Marshall Street, who died Thursday, will be buried on Saturday following rites at 2 p.m. at Centenary Methodist Church, Mankato, Dr. Paul Snyder officiating. Burial will be made in Glenwood Memorial Cemetery with Masonic graveside services.

Born in LeSueur County on August 15, 1876, Mr. Volk married Della Buelow at Brookings, S.D. on June 26, 1923. He served on the Seattle, WA police force for eight years and on the Mankato force for nine years. He became chief of police in December, 1925, and served for several years.

He was a member of the Centenary Church, Mankato Lodge No. 12, A.F. and A.M., and I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 15. Members of the Odd Fellows lodge will meet at the clubrooms at 1:30 p.m. Saturday to attend the funeral of Mr. Volk.

He is survived by his wife; four sons: Harvey of Long Beach, CA, Wesley of Charlottesville, VA, Robert of Chanute Air Force Base, IL, and Damian of Minneapolis; one daughter, Mrs. Jan Nowak of Fresno, CA; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Kelly-Johnson-Boman Mortuary is making arrangements.
