"N. R. Couch Funeral Set Here Today"

Funeral services for N. R. Couch Sr. will be held today at 4 p.m. in the First
Methodist Church. The Rev. Frederick Wilson and the Rev. J. Berrien Minter will
officiate. Interment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Members of the Mother's
Class will attend the service in a group.
Mr. Church, 71, of 624 Second Ave., died Friday morning at his residence. He
had been a resident of this city for the past 22 years. He was a prominent
groceryman and owned and operated the N. R. Couch Grocery Store at the corner
of North Madison Street and Roosevelt Avenue. Mr. Couch was born July 24, 1884,
in Talbotton, and was the son of the late William Scott Couch and Mary Ann Lee
Couch. He was a Mason and a member of the First Methodist Church of this city.
Survivors include his wife, the former, Miss Lucille Huff of Fitzgerald; a son,
Norman R. Couch Jr., Albany; four brothers, J. H. Couch and B. D. Couch, both
of Atlanta, P. V. Couch of Albany, C. L. Couch of Birmingham; two sisters, Mrs.
John P. McCoy of Columbus. Miss Mary Couch of Albany, a grandson, Norman
Randolph Couch III.
Active pallbearers will be Ray Mock, George Turner, Wallace Crouch Jr., Fred
Sumter, Albert Smith, W. N. Edmonds, W. L. Burch Jr. and William B. Heidt.
Honorary pallbearers will be R. H. Warren III, Enoch W. Jordan, George Joiner,
