John W. Douglas, 89, died Sunday morning in his home, 108 E. 15th St.

A life resident of this County, Mr. Douglas had lived all but two years of his life in Perry Township. He was a retired farmer and carpenter, and the son of one of the county's pioneer families. His parents were William H. and Ellen (Russell) Douglas. His wife, Eva Douglas died in 1948.

He was a member of the Clear Creek Christian Church.

Survivors include a son, Wallace Douglas, of 108 E. 15th St., a daughter, Mrs. Ella Pope, 1029 Ralston Drive, a brother, George B. Douglas of Bloomington, two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Jones, Bloomington and Mrs. Anna Rice, Detroit; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, in the Clear Creek Christian Church, with Rev. E. M. Linton officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Pallbearers will be nephews and will include Russell, Leslie, James, Edwin, Marvin and Paul Douglas.

The body remains at the Day Funeral Home where friends may call.
